Extracts from various Reviews

"In the end, _Curse of the Haunted_ is a magical album bearing some unforgettable moments of beauty and bliss alongside some terrifying and heart-breaking passages; a sixty minute ballad for the downtrodden and the discouraged." - Chronicles Of Chaos

"One of the things that really has drawn me into the Dea Marica sound is the way that the band seamlessly fuses cleans and growls to get something truly memorable. The clean vocals provide a certain epic and dynamic quality to the songs. Meanwhile, the growls add a layer of hatred and bitterness that few of the bands peers can match. Is this just another doom metal band? No. In a crowded scene Dea Marica seem to be making waves. As they gradually reach out and get the recognition they deserve I could see them quickly triumphing. Sure some evolution could be done in their sound, yet their ability to touch the heart is incredible" - Two Guys Metal.

"Dea Marica has come out of nowhere virtually and crafted an album with myriad influences and accents. This is needed to set itself apart from mostly the Russian kind of Death/Doom that’s doled out at an alarming rate these days, while eschewing the strictly British style, now hackneyed, and adding and composing immortal riffs using elements from all over." - Transcending Obscurity.

"A lot of death/doom heaviness packed into this debut album from London metal trio Dea Marica." - The needle Drop.

"All those beautifully weeping guitar melodies, oppressive and crawling riffs, Roberto's light and airy clean vocals yet dark and hate-filled grunts, etc., they all make this record quite a spectacular listening experience altogether." - Voices from the Darkside.

"There are high points to be found. I very much liked the (Metallica-inspired?) quiet passage in 'The Last Goodbye'. The ponderous opening of 'Skeletons and Blind Skulls' leads into 'Curse'’s most emotionally involving song, thanks especially to Mura’s vocal performance." - Doom-Metal.com.

"The album sweeps you along in its emotional embrace and forces you to come face to face with all of those small, dark things you’ve been avoiding thinking about for years. The epic melodies and exquisite vocal harmonies rub shoulders with the guttural vocals and heavier riffs and the band switch between the two seamlessly; sometimes it’s a sudden change and sometimes it’s a gradual build up, but either way the general mood is retained and the song is a winner." - Wonderbox Metal.

"The Curse of the Haunted is one of those albums that can infect your head for a while after, with ringing guitar chords and vocals straight out of a dampened cellar. If you enjoy the old days of cloudy English skies in colorless, bland parts of the city's underbelly, you'll enjoy what Dea Marica brings to the weathered table. Check out these guys and enjoy the din." - Metal Psalter.
